About Us
Apex Environmental is based around the experience and knowledge of John Peck, a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, and his family, who provide administrative and technical support and computer services.
Qualified in 1977 as an Environmental Health Officer, John specialised in local authority pollution control matters for 28 years, nineteen of those in a senior capacity.
After attaining the Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control of the Institute of Acoustics (IoA), he became a Corporate Member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA) in 1985.
In 1990, he received the IoA's Certificate of Competence in Workplace Noise Assessment, and the same year, was admitted a Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IoSH). For a year, before retiring early, he was also responsible for managing licensing functions.
With this backing and expertise, we can provide assistance in a range of local environment related matters, including:

Planning and Noise
Local authorities are increasingly requiring developers to provide assessments on the noise impact of their developments on local communities, as a requirement prior to planning permission. We can provide an assessment to meet the governments Planning Policy PPG24 requirements and BS4142 assessments.
-
Noise at work
If employers fail to show that they have undertaken, and regularly reviewed, an assessment of the noise exposure to which employees have been subjected, by a competent person, and implemented required control measures, they may be liable to prosecution. And possible successful civil action for damages.
Our expertise can help with these matters, and we are acknowledged as appropriately qualified "competent persons".
